What is Wellness?
Many people think the terms
“health” and “wellness” mean simply being free from disease – however
there is so much more to being truly well!
Wellness is a state of
physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing beyond the
manifestation of obvious disease symptoms. Wellness is everyone’s
birthright.

While
nowadays we can hope to live a long life, it is also common that a
large percentage of our life is spent in sickness. In western society,
the life curve we have come to expect is a progressive decline in health
from middle age, with years spent in sickness and morbidity. One of the
key aims of wellness is extending our healthspan (years lived in
health) to equal our lifespan.
